Help.....Help......Help......

that's what it sounded like. Plaintive cries from a tiny kitten trapped on a tree branch along our road. Thom and I were on our walk when we heard a noise we couldn't easily identify.....a loud bird? an animal of some sort? As we approached we eyed the little critter on a limb about 10-12 feet up....frightened and pathetic. Managing to coax her down to a distance we could reach, we scooped her up and returned home. It was clear she had been simply dropped off at that location...I think maybe even put on the branch...by some heartless creep. Sadly, this has happened here before.

She filled her tummy with milk and settled on a blanket as we drove to the humane society where hopefully she will be adopted by a loving family and be provided a good home.

I am tempted to write volumes on my disdain for people who abandon, neglect or abuse defenseless animals. Suffice to say I would wish them the same brutal treatment and dismal fate they inflict.

Our rescue mission to Spartanburg aside, Thom had a full day at work as I did at home. We fit in our walk after our trip, had a late dinner and are ready for Monk.....
