Translation Please......

Interesting morning. My first client spoke little English and was accompanied by an interpreter. Our communication was strained and I'm unsure how much of what was said actually made it to her ears. She knew enough to answer simple inquiries and to some extent understand what I had to share. Under those unique circumstances you become aware of your use of colloquialisms and slang terms and sometimes are uncomfortably left to swing in the wind at even meager attempts at humor! My overall evaluation will be determined by her homework and accomplishments before our next meeting.

Ten of us enjoyed lunch together at the Peddler....a "friends support" outing treating one of the group whose mother had recently passed away (near the anniversary of her daughters death)to brighten her spirits during a difficult time. The food was great and the company was excellent.....lots of laughs and conversation. As much time as we spend together at CPC not much of it is spent getting acquainted and now we had the opportunity.

Not that I needed another meal but we had signed for dinner at church so we enjoyed Baptist lasagna before prayer service. Tonight was mission night and the women and men were separated with a speaker for each group. One of our members gave her testimony and her story was moving and touched your heart. Her challenges reminded me with striking clarity how blessed I am!

Not much of interest on the boob tube....semi-interested in the Yankee game but will more then likely head upstairs and read.

Thank you Lord for blessings beyond measure....may I always remain mindful..
