140,000 Per Day......

Our church bus laden with enthusiastic volunteers hit the interstate toward Charlotte at 12:30 p.m. As expected there were a few no-shows so we were comfortable with a group of 20 looking forward to our afternoon at Operation Christmas Child. Since Thom and I had introduced the idea of this excursion to the church and promoted it to our members I will admit I was nervous that everyone would not find the time there as exhilarating and rewarding as Thom and I do each year. Of course, I had no reason to be concerned. In fact the Lord's work was evident...after our initial training there was a special need for a group of exactly 20 workers to take additional training and work "the yellow line" which is a designated area where boxes are processed for highly sensitive geographical regions. These boxes must meet stringent restrictions regarding content and special attention is necessary as they go through processing. We took our places on the yellow line and the hours flew by!

Boarding the bus for home everyone commented on the joy of their experience and definite plans took shape to establish an OCC annual trip as well as a youth work outing. I am thrilled and thankful for the response....but then I never should have doubted !

Back home....looking forward to different blessing tomorrow serving the Lord.....
