Anyone Seen Noah?.......

Rain, rain and more rain....that was the order of the day. Obviously Thom's golf game was cancelled and he spent the day catching up on household projects. I drove through puddles similar to small ponds on my way to and from CPC.

Three of my clients weathered the storm and kept their appointments. Interesting conversations and problem solving discussions highlighted our sessions for a productive day. It just tugs at my heart that so many of these girls are in their mid-teens and their lives are forever changed by parenting challenges at such a young age. Thankfully CPC is there to help in a small way and hopefully their children will be born to loving families equipped to raise them.

Somehow the cycle needs to be broken....most of these girls are daughters of mothers who birthed them or their siblings out of wedlock at similar ages. They've learned to do the same.....their children now watch them behave and live their lives by the same standards handed down from prior generations. In my "old age" I now see clearly how a parents everyday behavior is mirrored by the impressionable children entrusted to their care. Promiscuity, drug use, excessive drinking, criminality....children witness and absorb more then we realize and their personal moral compass is fixed by what their parents and other adults in positions of influence set before them as acceptable behavior. It's a profound responsibility that many take so lightly. Sad.

Okay....but it has been a while since I got on my soap box....I was overdue....

After a pathetic version of frozen pizza for dinner we went to prayer service. Thankfully the rain had cleared.....

Thom is laughing out loud at the Griswald's Christmas....just not my thing....I'm off to snuggle with my book.....
