"Family and Friend" day has become a Holston tradition and this year's theme was "rescuing souls". Local fire departments were honored and there was equipment filling the parking lot, a medical helicopter and giant inflatables for the enjoyment and entertainment of the kids and adults. A delicious lunch was provided for the large crowd after 10:15 service and most importantly the good news of the gospel was shared through our pastor's stirring message.
No early service meant we could sleep in an extra 30 minutes....whoppee! 13 little boys crowded into our SS room and the entire class time was taken up with the story of baby Moses. The kids creating their personal paper versions of river, reeds, basket, blanket and tot. I love giving them the opportunity to integrate their creativity with the story.....it makes it mean so much more to them. It was great fun!
Thom and I ran errands before returning to church for a more toned down evening service. Relaxing in the family room Thom gave me a condensed version of his SS study. I wish I could attend the 17 week program he is teaching but I'll settle for being tutored on Sunday evenings. The curriculum he put together is amazing and everyone I spoke to that participated in this morning's class raved about his materials and effective presentation.
A little TV and ready for slumber.....
