Detour.......

Still running a fever, Thom contacted the urologist this morning for advise. I had gone to CPC to keep my morning commitments but had rescheduled my afternoon appointments to return home and check on Thom.

God was at work as usual. Checking my texts I found that the doctor thought it necessary to see Thom and by noon had advised him that an emergency procedure needed to be performed. The stone had settled in a spot preventing drainage of his right kidney and the situation warranted immediate action. We met at the house, drove back to the surgeon's office and by 3:00 the stent was in place and Thom was in recovery.

Back home with another collection of medications. He will have this stent for a week then return for another procedure to remove it and hopefully the stone along with it. Not a fun time for my sweet husband but the fever seems to be abating and although painful and uncomfortable the stent seems to be working.

In all this we are thankful to have pursued the fever before kidney damage resulted and that Thom's overall good health will support a full recovery.

Just another bump on the road to old age.....
