Yesterday was a super fun day. Olivia celebrated her birthday with a group of friends in the afternoon and family for dinner and cake. Thom and I traveled up late morning. I stayed to help with the kiddies and Thom joined Steve, Brian, Ben and Brady for a trip to Charlotte for the monster truck show. The remainder of the clan arrived near 6:30 and as usual Janice and Steve prepared a delicious meal....the Hello Kitty cake wasn't too shabby either (if I must say so myself).
Home and bed. My alarm rang at 6:15 and before I could place my feet on the floor Thom was voicing his need to go to the emergency room. Apparently he had come downstairs during the night with abdominal pain and by sun up it was intolerable. He could barely stand and I made the executive decision to call an ambulance .....the cause was unknown as I was fearful of the possibility it was related to his heart......who knew? The medics appeared and within a short period of time had him loaded and on his way with a possible diagnosis of kidney stones.
They were right on.....after a few hours at the hospital and numerous tests the doctor identified that as the problem. We were sent home with meds and recommendations being reassured that the worst was over and it should pass in a day or two.
So....it will be a quiet recuperative day with a multitude of water being poured into Thom's system to get this little culprit to make it's exit.....
Thank you Lord for the prayers of our church on his behalf and the strength to endure......
