Middle Of The Night Creation.....

About 2 a.m. New Year's morning I was still awake with ideas circling in my brain. I retrieved pen and paper from my bedside table and wrote this:

Of all my resolutions
which ones will I keep?
Will I eat a healthy diet?
will I try to get more sleep?

Will I monitor my spending?
will I attempt to be more "green"?
Will I limit my TV time
and avoid the party scene?

Of these 2013 promises
each is a noble goal
But none of them can really change
my inner self - my soul.

So being eco-friendly
choosing veggies for a meal
Will be on the back burner
as I seek out something real.

There is a single promise
a commitment of direction.
To spend time in God's precious book
for guidance and reflection.

To share His saving message
is elevated to first place
So all will know His caring love
and find salvation through His grace.

I resolve to be a witness
spread the Gospel I hold dear
Profess God's Word throughout my world
in this our newest year!

Praying the Lord will give me the opportunities, the courage and the words to stay focused and keep this resolution.....
