Money Is Money......

This morning at CPC started early. I met with one of my clients before normal office hours to fit her schedule so I was sitting in the counseling room before 9.  A full day and a lunch spent stuffing envelopes for our monthly mailing....busy, busy.

The baby bottle fund raiser always results in literally tons of pennies needing to be rolled and deposited. I had suggested we take them to the machine at Walmart that counts them and spits out a receipt to surrender at the register for a gift card. Thom and I offered to then purchase the gift card and CPC would then have the cash. In discussing this option with the staff I realized that no one had considered approaching the bank with this request.....when Elizabeth inquired of her bank they said they would gladly take all the loose coins, count and roll them with a machine and simply deposit the total in her account (she would then write a check to CPC). Funny how sometimes the easiest solution are overlooked by presuming it can't be done. So....at 4:30 Elizabeth and I loaded my van with bags and bags of pennies (16 bags to be exact). We delivered an estimated 12,000 coins to Arthur State Bank! Will get the total tomorrow....super simple considering in years past those pennies were all rolled by volunteers!

Home late for a leftover pizza dinner ....a bit of an upset tummy and fell asleep on the couch.....better now but the long nap has me wide awake at 1:33 a.m.!.....
