We spent the day in Gastonia keeping doctor appointments for my father. His doctor made it clear to them that hospice was no longer an option to consider at a future date but an immediate necessity.
Shortly after we returned to their house the call came and they will be there tomorrow morning at 8 to discuss his future care. That call propelled us to a difficult and serious discussion with my parents and I left confident that they will agree to whatever is recommended by the evaluating team. In all likelihood we will be back there tomorrow to implement whatever changes are deemed necessary.
Just an agonizingly sad day.
Praying the Lord will be merciful to my dad as he nears the end but knowing that glory awaits ......

Elaine, I don't really know what to say but just know that I am sad for you and your family. I rejoice with you that your dad will be with Jesus, but I know that saying goodbye will be difficult. I hate that you are going through this but I realize it's a fact of life. I've been praying for you, and will continue to do so.
