Love In Action......

Today was a day of love and sharing!

Bright and early we headed to Charlotte for our annual workday at Operation Christmas Child. Thom, Stefanie, Janice and I have been laborers there for many years but this year was extra special with the addition of Julia and Brian (since they turned 13 this year and are now allowed to work) and Colleen who also made her OCC debut. We were thrilled that Colleen was willing to make the long haul to Charlotte on her own and grateful to Mike for doing the Dad thing for the day. Only wished she could have stayed for the Gastonia festivities.  Julia and Brian worked hard and had a ball. It was such a fun time......our hours there are truly my favorite part of the Christmas season.

Steve injured his leg quite severely and stayed home with the other kids till we returned to the Kahn household near 3 p.m.. My mom and aunt had come over to help and shortly after we loaded up the cars and drove to Cheddar's for a yummy birthday meal to acknowledge Stefanie's special day.

Party cake and presents and an exhausted Thom and I were back at Camp Carney by 9:00.

Processing those shoe boxes is always a tangible reminder of how truly blessed we are. Not only in material ways but most importantly in the fact that we know the Lord . His Word lives in our hearts and having the opportunity to share earthly tokens with those less fortunate as an avenue to sharing heavenly treasure is awesome.

Praying for those precious gifts to bless those who receive them with the love of Christ.....
