Spring weather has retreated for a few days and yesterday was windy and chilly. It wasn't the temps I had expected for the birthday celebration day and some of my outdoorsy games got shelved for warmer afternoons.
Highway construction had the Gastonia crew arriving later then planned but that was fine. We got in a boat ride, a walk and hours of basketball. A back/front yard scavenger hunt of sorts remained on the agenda and everyone had a few laughs hunting down their assigned items. Dinner was great and the table was loaded at dessert time with 3 birthday cakes (Thom, Steve and my mom). Everyone left with an expanded waistline for sure. Apples to Apples and Charades added to the fun. It was a super day with a super family.....love them so very much.
Thom and I enjoyed lunch at Longhorns with Alexia and Miss Betty after church and SS. Lots of banquet talk. Thom and I have been designated to meet our guest speakers , Al and Lisa Robertson (stars of Duck Dynasty), at the airport on Thursday morning and welcome them to SC. Psyched about that!
An afternoon of napping and the Masters before evening service.
