Why.......

Why would 200 people spend endless hours preparing for and participating in an event requiring them to be outside in below freezing weather for 3 nights of a pre-Christmas weekend when time is at a premium? To spread the gospel and win souls for Christ of course! The experience ignites the holiday spirit, teaches some biblical history and generally leaves individuals with the "warm fuzzies". All those are a blessing but in addition to that "feeling" the members of Holston Creek Baptist Church continue to pray that names will be added to the Book of Life as people accept Christ and will receive the assurance of eternity in Heaven.

After a fun afternoon celebration of Brandi's birthday (with delicious food and play time with the grands) I donned my layers and my costume and Thom and I headed to Bethlehem for the final presentation. An incredible turnout....I'm estimating about 1000 people walked the streets of our sleepy little town. Another special evening for us as Colleen and Carson as well as TJ and all his family made the trip and toured the ancient city. Rainy weather all day gave way to moderate temperatures....the moisture wrapped the town in heavy fog and with torches and candles burning the appearance was very authentic. What a blessing the past 3 days have been to all of us at Holston Creek and hopefully to many more.

Time to close this day.....new and fun Christmas activities on the horizon.....
