Joyous And Sadness.......

Yesterday morning was a joyous celebration hosted by the staff of CPC. These sweet godly women  provided a full morning of fellowship, love,delicious food, gifts and good cheer for nearly 35 CPC volunteers who gathered for a progressive brunch in a local subdivision. Their chosen theme was the three gifts of the wise men and at each home we enjoyed a menu course, were entertained and received a precious gift. Truly it was one of the most lovely occasion of this Christmas season. I am so blessed the Lord led me to be part of this ministry.

I hopped on the interstate for an afternoon with the Kahn family and an evening of entertainment provided by Olivia's dance recital. They were so cute!

Headed to Stefanie's house to spend the night and as predicted we chatted till well after 1 a.m.. Love it!

Back on the road and home to a walk and relaxed afternoon with my very special husband. He had planned on a trip to Greenville with the Bishops last night to watch a hockey game but sadly Carson got a case of the poorlies and the evening was cancelled. Hoping he feels much better.

Seems this blog cannot be complete without attention to the Connecticut tragedy. There is little left to be said in the wake of such a horrendous act. As with all who have posted comments of sadness and disbelief my heart aches for all those immediately affected.  One thought does seem to persist in my mind......are we all prepared at any moment to leave this earth for eternity? Knowing those little ones are worshiping at Jesus' feet right now brings some sense of comfort but are those adults with Him also? Life is fragile and unpredictable. We cannot guarantee ourselves another day or even our next moment. My prayer is that those victims were secure in the Lord and that others who have yet to accept Christ into their hearts to live and reign will do so as a result of this horror. Possibly good coming from such profound evil.

Thankful I am safe in the Lord's hands.....
