In the south, standard operating procedure is the disassembling and removal of all hints of Christmas decor late Christmas evening or the following day. I have resisted this assimilation into rebel culture for almost 20 years but I relented today.
Becky called this morning to let me know she had forgotten a previous commitment and would not be in the office as usual. I had planned to go to the mission to work while Thom golfed but that idea went the way of the wind after her call. What to do with my day? That's right.....down came the empty boxes from the attic and after 5 strenuous hours of hard labor not a hint of holiday cheer remained on display at Camp Carney. Since we have no New Year's plans and are not expecting guests to view and admire our tree and adornments this early removal suits me just fine. Glad the job is done.
Coffee and TV.....tired from what seemed like 4000 trips up and down stairs.....bedtime is not far away....
