Days Gone By......

The fact that it was Christmas Eve did not deter Thom from heading to the golf course. Unrelenting rain did however, prevent him from playing and after sharing holiday greetings with friends he returned home by late morning.

Chinese fare has become our meal of choice on Christmas Eve (a holdover from my childhood) and we loaded up on oriental cuisine as we headed to the Bishops for the afternoon and evening. The Wylies shared the festivities and we enjoyed a yummy meal and diving into piles of gifts before leaving for church. This year we were thrilled to join Colleen, Mike and the kids at their church for Christmas Eve service. Carson took on the role of a wise man in the children's presentation of the nativity and did a great job. Both families regathered for dessert and a game or two before we left for home to allow the kiddies to snuggle in their beds as they awaited Santa.

Christmas morning came early. Thom and I sipped coffee and had our mini-gift swap and managed to arrive in Rock Hill at TJ's by 10:00 a.m.. A breakfast buffet and kids everywhere! So precious! Another wild scene of flying wrapping paper and just sweet time spent together before our next appointed destination.

The girls and I had chosen an unconventional approach to this years Christmas feast.....we maintained a continuous flow of various appetizers all day ranging from fruit and veggie platters to chicken tenders and a mashed potato bar. Of course it was followed up by an array of sweets with coffee. We all ate till we were near exploding!

Tons of gifts, some crafts and games and enjoyable conversation punctuated with lots of laughter. Hated to leave but the hours slipped away and exhaustion was setting in. Great day!

Pleasantly weary we crawled into bed by 11:00. Such undeserved blessings from the Lord every day.

Up this morning to chores and Thom to a round of golf.

Preparing to bake for Kahn Christmas. The celebrating continues.....
