After a day of preparing the house for overnight guests Thom and I opened the Salt Shop for Bethlehem's taxpayers at 6:00 p.m. And did they show up in force! Friday night welcomed 800-900 visitors including our clan from Gastonia. It was terrific!
The 9 from North Carolina spent the night at Camp Carney.....there were sleeping bodies everywhere and no one entered dreamland till well after midnight. Early rising for a big family breakfast yesterday and by noon the house was empty again.....sigh!
We gathered ourselves and redressed for day 2. The crowds last night were unreal. Folks waited up to 2 hours and the estimate was 2000 guests. Colleen, Mike and the kiddies took the tour and we loved seeing their sweet faces in one of the groups. We recognized a few of Thom's golf buddies as well. Bethlehem's schedule is 6 - 9:30 p.m.. We closed the salt shop after the last group at 10:45!
No early worship service so we slept in a bit before Sunday School and the kiddie program at 11:00. A nice long walk in the warmish sunshine. An early dinner and we'll be ready for our final night.
Praying hearts are touched with the true Christmas message.....
