The Lord decided we needed the rain and to prove He knew best the unrelenting drizzle (with the occasional downpour) did not prevent an amazing turnout at the CPC tournament.
With the exception of one team (and that was known prior) EVERYONE came to play! We sold tons of "red tees" and "mulligans" and dozens of golfers participated in the "Big Break" as well as the putting contest. Soaking wet players were challenged on one of the holes to hit a marshmallow as far as possible for a Chic-Fil-A for a year prize and all tried their hand at winning the car on hole #9. They stopped in as they made the turn for coffee or hot chocolate, cookies and freshly roasted peanuts. With such a soggy course the day ran long. It closed with the awarding of raffle prizes to every participant and some great silent auction gifts distributed to the highest bidders. Everyone was drenched and drippy but proclaiming one of the most fun days ever!
We got to the course at 8:30 and returned home 12 hours later.
God was faithful......as if we ever questioned Him!!!!......
